Just do it.

Here’s a powerful quote that gets right to the point:

Most of us do not need more light, we need more obedience.” (Leonard Ravenhill).

In Genesis 17:1, God said to Abraham, “I am the Almighty God; walk before Me, and be perfect.”

The word for “perfect” here does not means sinless perfection, but “uprightness, being without spot, without blemish, totally obedient.” It means to finish what you started, a complete performance.

John Wesley called it “constant obedience.”

So, maybe it’s true. Maybe some of us don’t need more light today… just more obedience.

What are your thoughts?

  1. This goes right along with what God is speaking to me lately; to live each day without regrets. Thanks for holding forth His Truth!

  2. Oh yes, right on!! I often ask God to let me be light, but I realize more and more that if I am true and obedient, THEN perhaps he will shine through me. Awesome post brother, God bless you!!! Robin

  3. I think obedience goes hand-in-hand with light. When we walk in obedience light is bound to shine on places of our hearts that are in darkness. Obedience opens the door to the light.
That’s my thought on it anyway…
